Cameras

Configure one or more servers under Settings → Server, then add or edit a camera under Settings → Cameras.

Server selection

Each camera source selects a typed server. The camera automatically uses that server's active connection, so local, remote, or VPN endpoints can be switched without editing the camera. A connection set can switch several servers together.

A camera may use different servers for its live source, list snapshot, and Review data.

Live source

Choose a live source per camera:

Streaming

  • go2rtc WebRTC streams video and optional audio from the selected go2rtc server. Configure the main stream and optional sub stream; an empty main-stream name uses the camera name.
  • WHEP WebRTC streams video and optional audio from the selected WHEP Server. Configure the main and optional sub WHEP paths relative to the server base URL.
  • Swiftcam Server (Deprecated) receives low-latency snapshots from the selected Swiftcam Server (Deprecated).

Polling

  • go2rtc and Frigate NVR periodically refresh an image from the selected server.
  • HTTP Server periodically loads an image path relative to the selected HTTP Server connection's base URL.

Other

  • None disables the live source.

Polling sources support Picture in Picture but do not provide audio or sub streams.

Live view settings

Live view settings control how the camera's full live view is displayed. They do not change snapshot cards in camera lists; configure those separately under Views.

To open them, go to Settings → Cameras, select a saved camera, then tap Live View Settings under Live Source.

Live stream

Available transformations include:

  • Rotation — rotates the displayed stream by 90°, 180°, or 270°.
  • Mirror — flips the displayed stream horizontally or vertically.
  • Fit horizontally — fills the viewport width while preserving the stream aspect ratio. The top and bottom may be cropped.
  • Fit vertically — fills the viewport height while preserving the stream aspect ratio. The sides may be cropped.
  • Fit horizontally and Fit vertically — fills the entire viewport and may stretch the stream to a different aspect ratio.
  • Force aspect ratio — overrides the aspect ratio reported by the stream, for example to display a 4:3 source as 16:9. This option is unavailable when both fit settings are enabled.

A separate Live (Sub Stream) section appears when the selected source supports substreams and a substream is configured. Its rotation, mirroring, fit, and aspect-ratio settings are independent of the main stream.

Display

  • Disable rotate to fullscreen prevents device rotation from automatically opening the fullscreen player. This is useful for portrait cameras already fitted to the screen.
  • Automatic night mode applies a low-luminance red presentation when the device screen brightness is at its minimum to reduce blinding at night.

WebRTC transport

For a go2rtc WebRTC live source, Transport selects how WebRTC media is carried:

  • Automatic lets Swiftcam and the server select the transport.
  • UDP prefers lower-latency UDP transport.
  • TCP uses TCP, which can work better on networks that block UDP.

Snapshot source

  • None disables list snapshots.
  • go2rtc loads frame.jpeg for the configured main stream.
  • Frigate NVR loads the latest image for the configured camera name.
  • Swiftcam Server (Deprecated) receives the configured snapshot-cache stream.
  • HTTP Server loads a camera-specific image path relative to the server connection's base URL.

The live and snapshot sources may reference different servers.
