Apple Watch¶

Swiftcam includes a native Apple Watch app for viewing cameras on your wrist.

Configuring which cameras appear¶

The watch shows the cameras assigned to a dedicated Apple Watch view. Manage it on your iPhone:

1. Open Settings → Views.
2. Tap Apple Watch.
3. Under Add Cameras, tap a camera to add it to the watch.
4. In Included Cameras, drag to reorder or swipe to remove.

Changes sync to the watch automatically. The view shows the current sync status; tap the sync button (circular arrows, top right) to force a re-sync if the watch looks out of date.

Adjusting how a camera looks on the watch¶

Each camera has watch-specific display options so its image fits the small screen. On your iPhone:

1. Open Settings → Cameras, choose a camera, then open its Advanced settings.
2. In the Apple Watch section, adjust:
   • Rotation — rotate the image, e.g. for a sideways-mounted camera.
   • Mirror — flip horizontally or vertically.
   • Fit horizontally / Fit vertically — fill the watch screen along each axis.
   • Force aspect ratio — set a custom width:height when not fitting both axes.

Apple Watch Ultra Action Button¶

You can configure the Action Button on Apple Watch Ultra to launch Swiftcam.

1. Create an "Open Swiftcam" shortcut (on iPhone)¶

1. Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.
2. Tap + to create a new shortcut.
3. Add the Open App action.
4. Tap App and choose Swiftcam.
5. Name the shortcut Open Swiftcam and save.
6. In the shortcut's details, enable Show on Apple Watch so it syncs to the watch.

2. Assign it to the Action Button (on the watch)¶

1. On the Apple Watch Ultra, open Settings → Action Button.
2. Set Action to Shortcut.
3. Tap Shortcut and choose Open Swiftcam.
4. Press the Action Button to launch the watch app.
